Meet JOHN O’HURLEY aka J Peterman from Seinfeld – Saturday July 6 Only
Autographs and Photo Ops … Host of the National Dog Show – Bring Your Dog !
Meet K Callan all weekend for autographs and photo ops. K Callan starred in “Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman” as Superman’s mother, Martha Kent. She appeared in “Star Trek Deep Space Nine,” “Carnivale” and many other TV shows and movies. Her most important role occurred back in 1977. K starred in “All in the Family” in the “Cousin Liz” episode. This episode won an Emmy award for outstanding writing. Archie and Edith go to the funeral of Edith’s cousin Liz. They meet her roommate, Veronica, played by K. The Bunkers find out that Liz and Veronica were in a personal relationship. Due to a fight over items in the inheritance, Archie was going to sue K’s character which would have exposed her relationship with Edith’s cousin Liz. This would have made K lose her teaching job. Back in 1977, there were many people in government trying to put laws into effect banning alternative lifestyles from working in public schools. One of the writers believed that the Cousin Liz episode was associated with the defeat of one such initiative in California. To this day many people still recognize K and come up to her to let her know how that episode changed their lives. This episode is as important today as it was then.
